Chipper Tuesday

Am feeling rather chipper today - I'm wearing a polished outfit, had a great workout, and a delicious healthy breakfast - great way to start the day!!

Started the eating portion of my day with a slice of toast with PB and some blackberry jam:

Bread:
I've been looking for a bread for life for a while now - something that is so good I'll never want to buy anything else. Well, coincidentially, the bread that wins the contest is the Food for Life brand. The brand makes the refrigerated Ezekiel and Genesis breads. I have FINALLY found my bread for life!!! I have no idea why I was afraid to try these before, but it probably had to do with the fact that I'm always cold and didn't want to stand in a refrigerator to analyze the label! At 80 calories per slice, 3 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein and no transfats or HFCS, the nutritional info is hard to beat. Plus the company claims all kinds of other benefits from the sprouted bread, which I'll just go ahead and believe :) Give it a try!! It's GREAT bread! I got the "Bran for Life" one (which has FIVE grams of fiber per slice) but I can't wait to try the other kinds too!

Workout: Upped the resistance on the elliptical and worked extra hard - why didn't I think of this before!? Although I wanted to do a treadmill run to vary my cardio, my Real Simple was too good so I did 45 minutes on the elliptical. Also got in a quick set of abs. 426 calories burned.

Breafast
was delicious and SO satisfying for some reason!!

1/3 cup oatmeal pancake with banana:

Kiwi and raspberries:

Frothy latte:

All together:

Total breakfast calories: ~485.

And I'll leave you with some thoughts from Fit From Within:

"You get there [intuitive healthy eating] when you're willing to let your desires reflect your needs. It will take some time. In the interim, do what you know is expedient, whether you want to or not. You'll sometimes need to say 'No, I don't think I'll have a piece of cake; I'm really full" when you are actually thinking, 'A slice of cake would be my ticket to heaven right now.' This is the esteemed tradition of 'Fake it until you make it.' Eventually, you'll hardly ever need to fake it, because your desires themselves will have changed."

It's taken me two years to learn this, but I'm almost there....

Hi Kath, I'm addicted to the Food for Life pocket bread, it is only 100 calories, 4g fiber and 7g protein! Very filling and makes for a great sandwich :)
